Our approach
HAFAFRICA is a nonprofit organization founded in Ghana to improve the lives of children and young people in Ghana and advance the empowerment of women across the continent.
We work directly, and/or alongside local partners, schools, chiefs and health professionals, in underserved communities in Ghana to tackle extreme poverty in three main ways:
Key areas of focus
Advocacy
We seek to influence the decisions and policies of people in power to address the inequality in childhood cancer care.
Student & Cultural Exchange Programs
We offer educational support for our youth to have opportunities for growth.
Economic Empowerment
We work to empower the most vulnerable people so they can sustainably thrive economically.
Community Development
We equip the youth & women to lead development in their local communities by identifying needs and mobilizing resources.
Water & Sanitation
We help communities get access to clean water and sanitation facilities, and equip them to manage and maintain them.
Environment and climate
We support farmers affected by climate crises and work towards a country where we live within our environmental limits.
Sexual & Gender based violence
We are committed to protecting and standing up for the rights of women and girls, and promoting healthy relationships.
Care for the Aged and people with disabilities
We run various programs and initiatives aimed at helping older adults and adults with disabilities secure safe accommodation.
